2. Gum Disease Treatment

In Japan, the leading cause of tooth loss is gum disease (37%). According to the Japanese Society of Periodontology, the prevalence of gum disease increases with age: 20% among those aged 15–24, 30% among those aged 25–34, 40% for 35–44, 50% for 45–54, and 55–60% for those aged 55 and above.
The progression of gum disease can be categorised into five stages.
1: Healthy gums
No signs of inflammation or bleeding.
2: Gingivitis
Bleeding occurs when the depth of the gum pocket is measured.
3: Early periodontitis
Tartar is present below the gum line, up to 4mm in depth.
4: Moderate periodontitis
The gum pockets have deepened to 4–6mm.
5: Advanced periodontitis
Pocket depths exceed 6mm.
Excluding Stage 1 (a healthy state), it is said that around 80% of adults experience some form of gum issue.
To maintain healthy gums, it is important to attend regular maintenance appointments, or at the very least, begin periodontal treatment at Stage 2 or 3 — when symptoms such as bleeding gums and periodontal pockets of up to 4mm are present. At our clinic, we offer the following treatments for patients diagnosed with gingivitis or gum disease.

Nurturing lifelong health from those very first little teeth
Start your child’s preventive dental care around six months after their first tooth appears. A child’s teeth are a mirror of their future health.
At Bloom Dental Studio London, we focus not just on treating cavities, but on preventing them.
Even for little ones visiting the dentist for the first time, we aim to create a calm, gentle and pain-free experience, one that feels safe and even fun.

Through positive experiences that help children feel, “Going to the dentist is fun!”, we aim to nurture lifelong habits of preventive care.
Age-Appropriate Care Tailored to Each Stage of Growth
To parents
Now is the time to build the foundation for your child’s smile.
Care during early childhood plays a vital role in healthy tooth alignment and overall development later in life.
We take the time to explain each step carefully, providing treatment that gives parents confidence and peace of mind.
6. Preventive Paediatric Orthodontics

From straightening teeth to supporting healthy growth
Dental misalignment is not caused by genetics alone.
In many cases, it develops as a result of daily habits and functional patterns of the muscles around the mouth.
At Bloom Dental Studio London, guided by our philosophy of “Building a Healthier Future with Preventive Dentistry” we provide myofunctional orthodontic treatment tailored to each stage of a child’s growth.
Our goal is not simply to move teeth.
We focus on supporting the healthy development of essential oral functions, including tongue posture, breathing, overall posture, and swallowing.

Myobrace Treatment (Approximately ages 5–9)
-
Improves muscle function and encourages correct nasal breathing

To parents
Rather than viewing paediatric orthodontics as simply “straightening teeth,” we focus on supporting your child’s natural growth and development.
By nurturing proper oral function, this approach can help reduce the need for tooth extractions and lead to gentler, more comfortable orthodontic treatment in the future.
We invite you to begin with an informal consultation and discuss any concerns you may have.
7. Clear Aligners
A subtle adjustment can make a big difference
As we age, it’s common to notice wear, discolouration, or changes in tooth shape. At our clinic, we take a minimally approach to orthodontic care.
We gently and safely move the teeth within a realistic range and enhance their colour and shape through whitening and bonding. This helps reduce both time and cost while minimising the impact on the teeth. A thoughtful and practical plan tailored for adults.

Recommended for those who
-
Have mild crowding or gaps of the front teeth
-
Noticed teeth shifting after past orthodontic treatment
-
Wish to improve alignment while keeping a natural look
-
Wish to improve your appearance with minimal treatment and time commitment

Important notice
Except in cases requiring emergency care, all treatments at our clinic are provided only after the completion of a full oral examination and professional cleaning.
Before we proceed with any treatment, we require you to undergo a comprehensive examination during your first visit.
Referral to Specialist Clinics When Needed
At our clinic, we focus on preventive, aesthetic and minimally invasive dental care.
If a case requires surgical procedures or more specialised treatment, we will refer you to a trusted dental clinic or specialist within London.
Depending on the urgency and nature of the condition, we will support a smooth and appropriate referral process. Please feel free to consult us with any concerns.
For Japanese Patients
Our dentist has over 30 years of clinical experience in Japan and continues to practise there.
We have a deep understanding of the Japanese dental insurance system, treatment approaches, materials used, and the condition of previously treated teeth.
If follow-up care for insurance-based treatment or information sharing with your dentist in Japan is required during your treatment in London, we are able to support this smoothly and efficiently.
In addition, when necessary, we can assist with referral letters to dental clinics in Japan and provide support for the transfer or continuation of treatment. Please feel free to contact us for further advice or consultation.
